Are duty, taxes and freight included in my Quote?
A. Our quote includes the unit price FOB Shanghai. If the customer
requests that Norwell Sourcing Solutions arranges freight, then the
cost of freight, duty and taxes will be included in the quote.
A. Our customer's part design and guidelines generally indicate
which supplier is required to manufacture their product. We will,
however, select the most qualified source to ensure that all of our
customers' requirements are met.
Q .Do you have an
actual office in China?
A. We maintain a 10,000 square ft. state of the art office in
Hangzhou and a smaller satellite office in Wuxi. Our office is
staffed with an adequate number of people who handle quoting,
engineering, pre-production samples, production, quality and
logistics.
Q. Do you have a
minimum order quantity?
A. We have no minimum order quantities. Our suppliers in China will
quote low volume items but it is important to understand that
smaller quantities equate to smaller savings. Smaller production
runs make sense if the product is labor intensive requiring
machining, assembly, packaging, and other labor intensive and
value-added functions. More value-added operations translate into
more cost savings.
We strive to develop long-term lasting relationships with our
customers and create “Win-Win” situations.
Q. Do I
have to provide an L/C or other financing?
A. Depending on the size of the order and the customer’s credit
history, we may require a letter of credit. After a relationship has
been developed we will review the order and grant favorable payment
terms.
Q. How long
has your company been in business?
A. Norwell Sourcing Solutions has over 30 years of manufacturing
experience and over 8 years experience in China.
Q. Do you have engineers on site? If so, what are their specialties?
A. Yes, we have on-site engineers at our locations in China. They
are mechanical engineers who work directly with our manufacturing
plants to manage your project and ensure all specifications are
achieved.

What is your company's philosophy regarding quality?
A. Norwell Sourcing Solutions has over 50 qualified suppliers who
are ISO 9001/2000 certified. We provide all levels of inspection and
quality assurance. Our commitment is to inspect and qualify
components and products to your exact specifications
prior to shipment.
Q. If there was a defect in one, or some, of the units - how does
your company prefer to handle them?
A. We use a method of first article inspection on all production
runs and subsequent interval inspections consistent with ISO
standards. For large or first time part runs, samples will be
provided to the customer for approval. After approval, the
production run will begin. In addition to the supplier verifying all
dimensions are met, Norwell’s on site engineer/project manager will
also perform inspection audits. If there is a defect, we will
consult with our engineers and the customer on the best way to solve
the problem and corrections will be made at the factory. For any
defective product that reaches our customers, we will discuss the
best method for resolution including monetary allowances/replacement
parts.
Q. What is your company's standard response time to quotes?

RFQ response time depends on the product. The average quote time is
7-10 days.
